2. Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit this website.

2.1 Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:

Tin Sever
c/o Autorenglück #29344
Albert-Einstein-Str. 47
02977 Hoyerswerda
Germany
Email: t2sever@pm.me

2.2 Hosting and server log files

When you visit this website, technical data may be processed automatically by the hosting provider in server log files. This may include, in particular:

  • IP address
  • date and time of the request
  • requested page/file
  • referrer URL
  • browser type and version
  • operating system
  • access status

This processing is necessary to ensure the technical operation, stability and security of the website.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests in secure and reliable website operation).

2.3 Informational use of the website

You can use this website for informational purposes without actively submitting personal data. This website provides blog content, information about me, and links to third-party websites.

2.4 Contact by email

If you contact me by email, the data you provide (for example your email address, name, and the content of your message) will be processed in order to handle your request.

Legal basis:

  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, if your request relates to pre-contractual or contractual matters; or
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on the legitimate interest in responding to inquiries.

The data will be retained only as long as necessary to process your request and to comply with any legal retention obligations.

2.5 External links

This website contains links to external websites operated by third parties. When you click such a link, you leave this website. I have no control over the content or data processing practices of third-party websites and assume no responsibility for them. Please review the privacy policies of the respective external websites.

2.6 Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies

A display preference (light or dark mode) may be stored locally in your browser (for example via localStorage) and is not sent to the server. This does not require consent under the ePrivacy rules applicable in many EU member states because it is strictly necessary for a function you request (theme preference).

2.7 Product analytics (PostHog Cloud EU)

If and only if you explicitly consent via the analytics banner, this website loads PostHog (PostHog, Inc.) as a processor for product analytics. The service used is PostHog Cloud in the EU (eu.i.posthog.com), so analytics data is processed in that environment subject to PostHog's terms and security measures.

Depending on configuration and product features, PostHog may process data such as page views, click and interaction events, coarse device/browser metadata, and pseudonymous identifiers. Session replay is disabled in the integration on this website. IP address capture is expected to remain disabled at the project level (recommended default for PostHog Cloud EU); you can review the current setting in the PostHog project.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

Further information from PostHog: Privacy policy · GDPR overview.

To exercise the right to erasure in respect of analytics data processed via PostHog, you can contact me at the email address above. I will handle requests using PostHog's data deletion features where applicable.

“Withdraw” records a decline and stops analytics. “Show consent banner again” clears your choice so you can accept or decline on the next page load.

2.8 Recipients of data

Personal data may be disclosed to service providers only where necessary for operating the website, in particular to:

  • the hosting provider
  • PostHog Cloud EU (product analytics), if you have given consent
  • IT or security service providers, if applicable

Data will otherwise only be disclosed where there is a legal obligation to do so.

2.9 International data transfers

Where personal data is transferred to recipients outside the EU/EEA, this is done only in accordance with the applicable legal requirements, for example on the basis of an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards.

2.10 Retention period

Personal data is stored only for as long as necessary for the respective purposes. Server log data is generally stored for a limited period as required for security and technical operations.

Where statutory retention obligations apply, the relevant data will be stored for the duration required by law.

2.11 Your rights under the GDPR

You have the following rights, subject to the applicable legal requirements:

  • right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)

Where processing is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.

2.12 Right to lodge a complaint

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority for data protection, in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement.

2.13 No obligation to provide data

You are generally not legally or contractually required to provide personal data when visiting this website. However, certain functions such as contacting me by email may not be available without providing the necessary data.

2.14 Changes to this Privacy Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect legal, technical, or operational changes. The current version available on this page applies.
